Re: Looking for an MT Prop Hub

I've got one from the prop strike. Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you photos and other info.

Re: Prop strike

Yes, I settled on the original quote with a release of liability. My rate only increased by $200 which really surprised me.

Re: Prop strike

Here's an update of my stupid mistake: The strike occurred on September 12, 2016. The engine was shipped to Lycoming the week following the strike. The engine was received back from Lycoming on December 14, 2016. No reasons given for the long delay. The only thing Lycoming found was that three wrist...

Re: Erratic Oil PSI Reading

Mine does that if I get to about 4 1/2 quarts, but only in the bumps. As soon as I add a quart - steady pressure.

Re: Non-WAAS G1000 -- ADS-B Future

Participated in the Garmin/Jeppsen webinar yesterday and actually learned a few things. One of the revelations was that the whole reason for the mandate is so the controllers can get a position update in 4 seconds rather than 12. That way they can pack traffic closer together. So, we are going to pa...

Re: Governor repair / overhaul

Don't know about the Hartzell governor, but I'm having the woodward governor done right now because of a prop strike and was quoted $1,700 with shipping from and to Albuquerque.

Re: Non-WAAS G1000 -- ADS-B Future

Charles, Thanks very much for the update. $11,000 is outrageous! I was expecting about $5,000 which I also thought was excessive. Just goes to show us how big government can screw you every chance they get. And they wonder why the GA population is decreasing. I wonder just how much of a position err...

Re: Non-WAAS G1000 -- ADS-B Future

Charles, Please keep us posted especially with respect to the cost. I'm not jumping in now. I have a non-waas 2007 DA40 and am going to wait. I'm hoping that as the date gets nearer many small plane owners will complain to Congress and get something done about the high cost. $500 is probably less th...

Re: Prop strike

First of all, thank you for your words of encouragement. Tomorrow will be a week since my blunder. I just got the estimate for the repair and thought I would share it. Thankfully, the insurance is going to cover the expense, but I suspect my rates will be shocking when the policy renews in January. ...

Re: Prop strike

I can't believe this happened and I feel very stupid and wouldn't say anything, but I hope this might help keep others from doing the same thing. I had a friend with Cirrus SR20 who left the tow bar on and did a prop strike and I couldn't believe he could do such a thing. But now I understand. I wen...
