Re: GTX 345R Bluetooth

Ask Garmin to install that for free based upon warranty since BT does not work. That is what my shop was going to do had the swap not worked.

Re: GTX 345R Bluetooth

Yes - I had that very issue with my 04 DA40. Have Garmin send your shop a replacement unit. That seems to have fixed my issue and others as well.

Cheers.

Re: ADS-B IN/OUT Now available for all US reg Diamonds

Currently I still believe you need the 345R with built in WAAS - even if you have WAAS G1000. I have a non WAAS G1000 and had 345R installed. Extra antenna accomplished by replacing upper com/nav with com/nav/waas gps. I agree that traffic picture is eye opening - and also calming to have such data.

In response to Thom - that checklist item - final walk around - is to prevent unfortunate things like this from happening.

Condolences to Eduardo - you pay for the insurance - so use it !!!!!

Re: Non-WAAS G1000 -- ADS-B Future

I used the cobham for mine. What you have to be careful about is adding another antenna in a new location requires engineering drawings from Diamond at our cost. One problem (of very few IMHO) with composite craft is that you cannot just drill anywhere you want. Not sure if you can change one of the...

David - do you have GDL 69A? I'm not sure a splitter works - your plane has no WAAS antenna - just like my 2004.

Re: Adding WAAS?

Let's also remember that the original sales sheets for the DA40 describe the GIA63s as WAAS upgradeable. This should never have hit us as a 30K remove and replace. I continue to go round and round with Diamond on this. I do feel that this of us that bought into the first G1000 aircraft were not trea...

Re: Non-WAAS G1000 -- ADS-B Future

With my not having the TAS 600 and being stuck with TIS-A I can tell you I really love having all the traffic on my MFD/PFD now. Really is much better safety - from what I had. 978 is cheaper but no integrated solutions. And hits market value for any international sales or flying.
