Re: Park Brake issue
Yes, this is a know issue and can be fixed by a Diamond service center by adding a plastic tube close to the parking break release lever so that the metal wire doesn’t bend. Usually you can still release it if you first put pressure on the brakes and then release the parking break.

Re: GPS kicking off at glide slope intercept
This is really strange. Was it always the same airport and runway? Maybe there is a local GPS disturbance on the approach path? Do other aircrafts expirience issues? I am wondering why apparently both GPS loose lock at the same time and location...

Re: GPS kicking off at glide slope intercept
What do you mean with „GPS kick out“? On ILS approaches GPS is not used. Do you mean the autopilot? What error messages do you get on the G1000?
And no, this is not normal.

Re: G1000NXI+Flightstream 510 waypoint lock
How often did I see management and engineers block simple things because of fear and how often did I prove them wrong by implementing it myself instead ?! :D Here every customer using Foreflight has a real issue with complete categories of waypoints, whereas your scenario is highly unlikely if the r...

Re: G1000NXI+Flightstream 510 waypoint lock
Try entering this plan in the FF map page: KHWD VPCSH VPMIN KSJC. Everything is fine and the G1000 will accept this flight plan. Now drag between VPCSH and VPMIN to add the Niles Canyon visual reporting point which is clearly named on the sectional, but has no five character fix identifier. FF adds...

G1000NXI+Flightstream 510 waypoint lock
Hi! Got the FS510 in our DA62 and especially IFR it’s really an awesome tool. However VFR I encountered an issue when using Foreflight and I was wondering if anyone has an idea how to fix it: When adding visual reporting points in Foreflight and syncing to the G1000NXI it shows the path and the wayp...

Re: G1000 NXi Phase II
Any day now Diamond is expected to announce their GIA63W trade-in program for NXi Phase I --> Phase II upgrades, as well as for Legacy G1000 owners that need to install these traded-in GIA63Ws in their aircraft. In both situations owners may be pleasantly surprised by the pricing. :P  Som...

Re: G1000 NXi Phase II
Thanks for the great review! I just brought 62.113 to its first 100h check at Diamond Egelsbach and at least they will install FS510 and the latest phase I software. Phase II upgrades are stalled right now in Europe because Diamond is internally figuring out how to reuse the GIA63W and therefore giv...

Re: New Owner - advice on configuration
Forgot to mention - In Europe, you have the option of purchasing a DA62 with a 1999 MTOW in order to avoid fees imposed on aircraft that weigh 2000 kg or more. Might want to look into that option as well. Do a W&B calculation. I am only below 2000kg when I fly with 3 ppl max, reduced main fuel ...
