Re: Modern or classic
Great article, thanks Dave. It agrees with everything else I've read. I've never heard of a problem with catching fire so not sure about that. Any owner I've read about seems very happy with their plane. Cross wind landing gear with the 275hp Jake seem like the best options so I'm looking for that. ...

Re: Modern or classic
Many thanks for your feedback and suggestions guys. Especially the safety advice Robert. I'm not in a rush so I'll keep thinking about it and gain experience in the meantime. It's a bit disappointing that 60 years later the new stuff isn't much better than the old, navionics excepted. Foreflight wor...

Modern or classic
Hello, I'm a happy da20 owner with 230hrs thinking about stepping up to a roomier, faster IFR plane. I love Diamond's safety and fun to fly factor so I'm considering a da40 but I'd like more seats (I have 3 kids) and maybe something a little different. I can't stop looking at the cessna 195! Re: Rudder broken by wind gusts
Thank goodness it broke completely on the ground
40 knot gust on the ground doesn't seem like a lot compared to gusts, turbulence and wind shear we sometimes deal with aloft. Yikes

Eric Brown, Pilot's Hero
I stumbled across a documentary on Netflix about Eric Brown, one of the world's best pilots and an all around incredible man. If any of you have some free time and don't know him, look him up on the Internet or Netflix and you'll be amazed at his life, his accomplishments, his strength and the fact ...

Da20 engine stall after landing
I'm having a problem with my engine occasionally stalling right after landing that I'm hoping someone here can help with. My da20 was operating perfectly before it's annual. My previous mechanic took a job far away so I switched to a closer, more convenient shop with a lot of experience but not a lo...

Re: DA20 stall warning
I had the same issue. Replaced the stall warning horn at my annual, problem fixed. Not expensive.
