Re: Cabin heat
You need to fine tune the Cabin Heat lever to just above halfway and passenger heat should be fine at higher altitudes. I found it took some adjusting initially to get the position right but works for me.

Re: Topping off TKS without making a mess
The best I can recommend is to look at the level indicated on the MFD i.e. 31 litres then add ONLY 5 litres of TKS to reach the MAXIMUM of 36 litres.
I use a measured 2 litre jug and a small funnel to fill the TKS tank.
This works for me without spillage.

Re: DA62 oil consumption
The RH Engine Dip Stick is difficult at first but once you master the technique below, it becomes very straight forward:
Unscrew the dip stick and pull vertically upwards as far as you can go, then bring the dip stick handle towards you and out.
A little practice and you will have it mastered.

What a tragic loss to the aviation industry. Such a talented aviator who explained incidents so impeccably well from which we learnt so much. Sincere condolences to Richard's family.

Personally, I would order everything you have cancelled except forget the stormscope. The Iridium in conjunction with Radar is invaluable.

Re: DA40 2023 starter engaged uncommanded during flight
I read a lot of moaning and groaning in this forum but, from my experience, I have to say that I am absolutely delighted with my DA62 and the truly excellent service I receive from both DAI Germany and Austria. Nothing is too much trouble and every time I get out of my aircraft, I still get that wow...
