Is my tail too low? (I mean my plane)
Hi, I feel that mine has a tail low attitude. Please see attached photo of me typing the tail down. I would say that my tail skid is barely 2 feet off the ground. Comparing photos of other DA40s, I've seen many with the tail pretty much parallel to the ground. Is this acceptable? The tail low attitu...

Hairline crack at wing root
Just noticed a hairline crack on the upper surface of the left wing at the trailing edge of wing root. I estimate to be about 10inches long. My mechanic looked at it and said that it is not through the thickness (yet), and that that's what I can expect from composite airframe. He didn't think it is ...

Re: Diamond event in London, Ontario, on Sept 17th?
Wish I can go, but a bit far and short notice. I emailed to Diamond Sales with the request that some sort of webex conferencing, so that people like me who can't make this trip can still listen in to the seminars.

Re: Front canopy open alarm
Thanks Rich, I believe that might be might happened. Went for another flight today, and all fine. You experience with the right side of the canopy twisting up would indicate that, if both pins happens to disengage, the canopy will be sucked opened, at least initially. Something I won't like to exper...

Re: Front canopy open alarm
Yesterday afternoon's return flight. The latch and everything worked fine, no canopy open warning throughout. Can't figure what happened.

Front canopy open alarm
The canopy latch on my 07 DA40 always sticks out a little. Today it sticks out even more, not matter how much I try to push it in. The canopy felt securely latched. But during landing approach, the door open warning came on. I am at a un attended field. I cannot find anything that obstructing the cl...

Re: Main Tire check with wheel fairings on
Thanks Rick, From the valve stem extension picture, the valve stem is horizontal (parallel to the wheel's axis) ? On my plane the valve stem is almost perpendicular, pointing to the wheel's axis! Maybe I've got a non-standard tyre, that makes it even harder to get to, as it'll be even further in fro...
