The GMA audio panel must be powered.
Important point -- and also that the aircraft needs to be connected to a 28V GPU to not run down the battery while configuring the panel.

Re: GMA 1360/G1000 NXi: Passengers can't hear com radio

I'm sorry that you're having trouble fixing this. As described in this thread from back in 2021: https://www.diamondaviators.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=83368#p83368 1. Boot the G1000 NXi in Configuration Mode. 2. Select the GMA audio panel "page group" at the bottom of the page 3. Scroll th...

Re: Descent power and rates

On Diamond diesels, when you pull power to idle (or near idle) crossing the runway threshold to land, you're causing windmilling prop(s) to drive the engine via the gearbox. Especially on DA42/DA62 twins with 2 windmilling props, this creates a huge amount of additional drag that helps to bleed off ...

Re: Jet shades installation

Are you saying that the thinner version 2 shades will stay inplace with friction and not require gluing on the clips ?? I don't know what you mean by "version 2". The ones I got with the airplane back in March, yes! No need to glue anything. For my DA62 I had the original JetShades (i.e.,...

Re: Video of wake turbulence knocking a light aircraft out the sky, plus avoidance tips

If you were doing a go around you wouldn't get to stop and add electric rudder trim, so do you just use the rudder pedals? Could you be a little gentle with the application of power? You're correct that you don't have time to quickly add the electric rudder trim on a go-around, but you're already f...

Re: Video of wake turbulence knocking a light aircraft out the sky, plus avoidance tips

A few months ago I decided to practice landings (pattern work) in our Epic E1000 at nearby Martinsburg, WV (KMRB) with its nice long wide 8000 foot runway and usually very little traffic. KMRB has an FBO with GA operations on the south side, but the north side is military where multiple 4-engine 500...

Re: Video of wake turbulence knocking a light aircraft out the sky, plus avoidance tips

A rare DA62 crash was caused by wake turbulence: A DA62 operated by a UK company testing ground-based navaids was landing on a runway in Dubai, when -- on short final -- it got hit by a wingtip vortex generated by a wide-body Airbus A350 that had landed on a parallel (upwind) runway. The vortex drif...

Re: AI settles it: XLS vs. NG!

AI sure has a long way to go -- since there are multiple inaccuracies in the generated statements: - The XLS does not have a faster cruising speed. Up high above 10,000 feet, the turbocharged DA40NG is a few knots faster (up to 155 kts TAS at 92% MCP) than a Lycoming DA40 operating WOT and cruising ...

Re: G1000 NXi Phase III

FYI, one of the most useful features of NXi Phase III software (which I'm fortunate enough to have installed on my Epic E1000 with NXi) and coming for Diamonds is *animated* NEXRAD for SiriusXM weather. The MFD map shows the most recent 3-4 NEXRAD images, and repeatedly cycles quickly thru them -- s...
