So, are you saying an IO360 is an emergency? Or just that an "old" 2005 is an emergency?

Re: Outdated Garmin G1000 software - petition sign-up

Scott,

Great news. Based on previous articles where authors mentioned January skiing in July article, or talking about the difficulty of writing about Christmas in June... I know it generally takes about six months from article completion till it is published.

Re: NG40 VS IO-360 real user pros and cons appreciated

Pros and cons would be appreciated. As for the NG, it gets checks for simplicity, Jet-A, fuel economy, etc. I have read that they are nose heavy so handling may be different? Useful load? Seems speed is a little better but only at 10k plus? And as for Diamond, I have read that many here are not hap...

Re: AvWebFlash today - Diamond Aircraft Plans To Double Production

I think there is a math problem in the article.
144 units to 150; is not even close to double.

Re: Outdated Garmin G1000 software - petition sign-up

Collin, Well stated. I was looking at three partnerships before I picked one. One was with one other person to buy a new DA-40. The second was with a local company thinking of getting a new DA-42. Last was with two others looking at a used Cirrus SR22. The update issue become a no go item for me. Si...

Re: So you think you want an E-AB ...

Fundamentally the problem with E-AB is there is no reference standard. Therefore it is subject to a more subjective standard which is less precise and much more dependent on the owner. This lack of a specific standards makes judging both the design and the manufacturing more difficult; and unless yo...

Re: Good maintenance shops in New England/Northeast US for annual/avionics?

NexAir Avionics has a great reputation for Cirrus, but I know they also do Diamonds. (http://www.nexairavionics.com/) They actually get customers from Europe and the west coast who fly out to have the work performed. A few owners have paid to fly Dave and/or Brian to their location to have the work ...

For the next four/five years: Weekend mission 500nm range, 150+ KTAS without wearing O2, carry 450lbs of people and bags. Day trip mission: 150nm, carry 700lbs of people and bags. I fly over glorified hills (called the White Mountains, Smoky Mountains, Appalachian Mountains...) on the east coast of ...

Re: G1000 WAAS upgrade

I paid about $16k for the WAAS upgrade. I think it was over $20k last time someone mentioned it. But I don't think you can do it anymore. I know for the G1000 planes, WAAS upgrades are no longer generally available. Garmin does not sell the parts, they are keeping what inventory they have left to s...

Scott,

Pekka is suggesting this: https://www.google.com/forms/about/
You can actually then give out the form for data entry, and a read only access to the spreadsheet.
