Hi Perry, you might try this number for Garmin support 866 739 5687. I find it always works for me and the folks on the other end are always helpful.

I ask the line guy to stop at the fuel cap wire on the tab of the right wing. usually works.

I was just informed that the G.D.L. 82 A D S B out unit will not work with Mode S transponders. So much for an" inexpensive" A D S B solution.

If you are going to carry a CAN cable you will also need your lap top loaded with the program to read the CAN cable.

I think that is almost fool proof.

Too true about the end breaking off. I had to repair mine. I used a nice machine screw and tapped the tow bar for the screw.

I am now looking at the new G D L 82 for my DA 42.It is a relativity simple install , in line hook up to the transponder. one ant. and a power line. Equipment cost is under $2000 plus install.

there is page 5 update. You get a log book sticker and a sticker for the panel. and you will need an IA sign off. I did not pay attention to the take off run , but I will next time I fly. After the snow clears.

These things are easy to install but the prep is very important for a great job.
