Re: Path to ADS-B & WAAS for older DA40s

Good question Kyle. It was only the latter because with a non-WAAS TDI DA42, we are limited to GDU version 9.05. However, with GDU version 11.12 (and higher) they “added flight plan import/export” capability back in March of 2011. What is interesting about your question is this software feature was ...

Re: The G1000 project - "The next step"

You guys are being played like a fiddle. I would normally say I’m shocked you haven’t figured it out yet, but, I’m not. This comment is offensive because it is inaccurate. If DAN members only knew the superb level of technical and business acumen the owner participants have brought to the table on ...

Re: Path to ADS-B & WAAS for older DA40s

Regarding your second question Bryan: As discussed in a previous thread on this forum, the FS210 is compatible with the GTX345R. As I’ve had this combination since the winter of 2016 and most likely I am not the only legacy G1000 / Diamond owner who is flying with this setup. Though this may require...

Re: The G1000 project - "The next step"

On Friday we received a draft from Diamond as we continue to work with them. Unfortunately, at the present time there is no material update to share.

Re: ForeFlight Bug & temporary work around

In my case, running strictly FF connected to a GDL-52. Also, happens when connected to a home WiFi network.

Re: ForeFlight Bug & temporary work around

Not sure if it's a bug or feature. If you hit the "current location" button at the top right, and it surrounded by blue, then the map is locked and tracking your airplane. You can zoom, but not pan. Russ, I'm fairly certain this is a bug because the map screen is completely frozen and unr...

ForeFlight Bug & temporary work around

My map page has frozen up on me during several recent flights - and even on the ground while connected to a WiFi network. Here is the response from ForeFlight tech. support: “The map freeze issue is a known issue we are tracking right now. We do not yet know the cause, but it seems that tapping any ...

Re: Diamond Aircraft Owner Census

For those who have yet to respond to the current G1000 owner survey by Diamond, this is your final boarding call – as the survey ends this Sunday (May 31st at 12 midnight EDT). So far there have only been 350 responses to the survey. We expect to provide another update once Diamond tallies the surve...

Re: Semi-cool new FF feature

The one feature FF really needs to add ASAP is one for depicting unpublished holds. This is a feature Garmin Pilot added recently and is a huge deal for those of us flying with G1000 software last updated in 2009.
