Re: Question about total fuel burn in Reports
Thanks for all the input. I would like to ask the community how you would think the fuel amounts could be calculated any better Current fuel is the sum of 'E1 FFlow' / 3600 * 'Time Elapsed' 'Time Elapsed' refers to 1 second in the generic log file. Any ideas? Is it safe to assume it's actually calc...

Re: DIY - Rudder Cable Replacement
Yeah, WOW! You should get a couple of extra diamonds right off the top for that one!
I sure wish I'd had those instructions a couple of years ago when I did mine - there's a number of really good tips in there!
Thanks, Rick - and WELCOME!

Re: co-pilot's side braking issues
I can't think of when the right-side brakes have ever been used in any of the 3 DA40's I'm familiar with. But I'm curoius now - I will get my wife to stomp on ours this weekend and see what happens!

Re: Low Voltage
When I use it as external power, I switch Master ON, turn the battery charger ON and then pull the BAT CB OFF. Then I can play as long as I want with the G1000. Jean, the DA40 schematic I've got shows that pulling the BATT CB would completely disconnect the external power (and battery) from the G10...

Re: Question about total fuel burn in Reports
There is a FQtyL and FQtyR in gals recording in the Garmin Data. So it should be as simple as substracting arrival FQty's from start FQty's ! I believe those are the outputs from the fuel tank sensors, so you lose 6 gallons off the top (or from the middle with the extended range). But still maybe c...

Re: Question about total fuel burn in Reports
Hi Kai!
I have to agree with Max - I checked a couple of my flights against the reports section, and the total fuel used is way off. The G1000 fuel totalizer values don't show up in the data file, so I was wondering which field(s) you are using to determine this number?
Thanks,
Rick

Re: Low Voltage
The Batteryminder charger will not supply enough juice to run the G1000. For that you need a real power supply like on of these: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/startpacpowersup3.php or possibly a cheaper one might work. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/portPowerCharger.p...

Re: Low Voltage
Same here, Chris. I just ordered a BatteryMINDer for my DA40, too - which sits on a tie-down with no power anywhere nearby. But I figure I can taxi to the wash area (where there's power!) and plug it in to play with the G1000 when needed, or have it as an option on trips, etc. I WISH I could leave i...

Re: Tight Window Latches
It seems my latches move pretty freely when the tab is not under the box, so I'm thinking my bolts are not overly tight. I guess I'll try Eric's suggestion next and remove small amounts of plastic from the tab until it fits better. I'll report back in a few days...
