There is a difference in weight between the Gill and the Concord battery. If you do change it remember to get the weight and balance recalculated.Gearle wrote:Updating this’s topic, Diamond officially supports both Concord and Gill batteries, per their email to me this week:

Re: Wing Removal
We have added the panels, it makes it a lot easier to replace the rollers.
Not difficult to do but worth getting a good composite guy to do it so that you get a nice clean finish.

i.e., not do the inspections but take advantage of the relaxation of the rudder cable requirement, There is no relaxation as such for rudder cables. Early aircraft had steel cables that need replacement at the interval specified. Later aircraft had stainless steel cables which are on condition. I d...

Looks to me like a mark from someones shoe/boot.
If it wasn't there before the maintenance take it back and ask how it happened.

Re: Possible Airworthiness Issue for 2001-05 DA40s
Per this recently released FAA notification, changes to the airworthy limitations are NOT mandatory to do. We regularly fly in Monsoon rain and never have defect related to airspeed fluctuations reported.
I would suggest getting your mechanic to check the pitot/static system and any water drain valves to ensure there are no issues.

Re: DA40D - Right Tank Drained
The AFM says “Fuel that is not injected into the combustion chambers is routed through the AUX fuel tank (right wing) and fed back into the MAIN fuel tank (left wing). This way hot fuel from the rail is cooled and cold fuel in both tanks is heated.” If the “cooler” is a heat exchanger, then without...

Re: DA40D - Right Tank Drained
In theory fuel cannot transfer between the tanks with out the transfer pump running. With the pump running it can only transfer left to right. (assuming everything is connected correctly) The diagram and text are clear that left is main and right is aux. Unless the cooler has a check valve, what st...

Re: fuel mystery
Colin,
You are correct the return fuel does go back to the tank it came from. See attchement.
I suspect in both cases the problem is caused by incorrect rigging or that the levers are worn and the valve isn't fully closing.
