Re: Heater lever changes the altitude

Took it up again yesterday. The heater lever confirmed makes the airplane go up and down with KAP 140 A/P enabled. I didn't think to disengage the A/P and see how the altimeters behaved doing the same thing. With A/P set to capture 3500 feet, the airplane leveled off at 3300. They are usually within...

Heater lever changes the altitude

Was flying last weekend on autopilot and pulled the heater lever rather abruptly which was followed by the airplane changing altitude 100+ feet. I was able to repeat this up and down by adjusting the heat lever which I could feel in my eardrums. The alternate static port was closed. Has anyone seen ...

Re: SureFly Electronic Ignition

SureFly kits installed and no issues after 6-7 flights. I can't understate how much of a pain this has been. Months (yes) of AOG last year, mostly waiting to get into the shop. My mechanic charged 6 hours of labor to install the kits and an additional 3 hours for troubleshooting. A lot of the delays...

Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program

I have this same configuration - 2004 G1000 KAP 140 upgraded to 345R and WAAS and it works great so it definitely can be done. As far as I know, the screens are original. Hopefully your patience will pay off.

Re: SureFly Electronic Ignition

I installed a SureFly about a year ago and also experienced some sudden loss of power incidents. I replaced my fuel pump and changed all my plugs to fine wire but the problem persisted. Yesterday during a 3 hr. flight I had two "burgles", each lasting only a second or two but upon landing...

Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program

Do you think the KAP would fly a hold post WAAS upgrade ? I didn’t try that It does not. Will it fly holds with GDU15 when it becomes available for GIA63W and KAP140 equipped DA42TDI, as DAI promised? My apologies on the previous post, I didn't realize we were talking about a DA42. As the owner of ...
