Re: Dynon Avionics - seeking an alternative to Garmin

Thanks everybody. So we have 10 (+1 who PM’ed me data) aircrafts for now. Let’s expand this list to 20-30 to give Dynon the idea of potential market.

Re: Looking to purchase DA62

BTW I received a note from DAI that they would comment and disprove my statement on doubling prices of Mercedes injectors. However, after three weeks no comment and no reply either here on in my mailbox.

CD-155 engines STC

DA42 TDI equipped with GFC700 has recently got EASA STC. I guess there are only handful of those but yet it's good to know they can get this upgrade.

So following STCs are available for DA42 TDI:
- EASA STC 10048730 for KAP140 equipped aircrafts
- EASA STC 10071407 for GFC700 equipped aircrafts

This looks like good improvement. What’s expected downtime?

Re: Looking to purchase DA62

My only complaint with Diamond is the same as many others on this board... When the heck are they going to complete the Phase 2 software update process and get it Flightstream 510, visual approaches, etc?? I don't care what their excuses are! Get it done! That’s what we’re trying to achieve asking ...

Re: Looking to purchase DA62

It is absolutely true that you can purchase a decades old turboprop or turbine for less than a gently used DA62. My decision to purchase the DA62 was a general preference to operate the aircraft on a predictable basis for practical use, as opposed to owning an unreliable sweat-beast strictly for br...

Not so much :) have in mind that Vy is 86 KIAS and there I have over 1300 FPM. Lowering the nose to 115 KIAS and I'm also around 1100 FPM at MTOW.

Re: Short Field Take Off

They have but the aircraft is heavier due to heavier engines. I compared the numbers for MTOW. However, the fair comparison would be for the same payload which is not easy to find out due to different versions of -VI and built-in equipment. I’ll try to find the numbers for basic configurations and c...

Re: Short Field Take Off

I guess that numbers for DA42-VI are similar, probably a bit higher speeds and longer ground roll but similar ROC. I checked the numbers in DA42-VI manual and I was wrong - DA42 with CD-155 engines has significantly better take-off and climb performance than DA42-VI, especially for clearing 50ft ob...
