Re: Leaning the DA20 C1 IO240 engine

MARK: I have the same experience with with my MT prop, same takeoff and climb rpm performance as you indicated. 2400rpm cruise consistent through most altitudes (safe 64%) lean of peak) gives me 120 knots. Generally between 5.5-6 gals. per hour, right by the book. ROBERT: yes you can cruise safely a...

Re: Leaning the DA20 C1 IO240 engine

I have the MT prop as well. Noticeably less climb rate than the Sensenich; however in cruise as you lower the nose, it picks up rpm quickly and at 2400, its bang on 120 knots (64%). Never could accomplish near that with the Sensenich. That is the difference between a cruise and climb prop. Next flig...

Leaning the DA20 C1 IO240 engine

At altitude, what is your procedure for lean of peak without a sophisticated engine monitor? I need to add that I cruise at 65% power (2400 rpm).

Re: Partial engine fail in flight / boost pressure drop

Holy Moly, I wish I understood all that jargon......I never did get an electrical/mechanical engineering degree, only a BBA. Glad I fly a simple DA20-C1.

Re: Intercom recorded audio

On my Garmin Virb, you can program internal or external sound. You want external sound when recording from headphone jack. Internal of camera gives poor sound when wired to jack.

Re: Recent Factory Visit

Steven: I agree with you 100% ! I truly believe that if Diamond Canada would get their act together and provide superior product support with a much faster response to parts availability, the New DA20's would again quickly fill the training void as it initially did. Our country needs this type of tr...
