Re: Turn Coordinator and KAP-140
My 2005 DA40 will only do about 60% of a standard rate turn in HDG mode, either left or right, causing overshoots on all turns greater than about 45 degrees. The TC was overhauled but the problem remains. There is no wing walk. Is KAP 140 or roll servo the likely cause?

Re: GTX345r traffic limitation on ForeFlight
I don’t think happens in my DA40. I do also have the Flightstream 210 so not sure if that makes a difference but I will check tomorrow.

Re: TDI owners: outdated Garmin G1000 software (version 9.05)
Count me in for the G1000 S/W upgrade.
DA40.553
By the way, I think Garmin still owns the STC so they have to be convinced to do the upgrade, ideally with Diamond support.

Re: Course reversal with G1000 & KAP 140
Sandy, I am sure what you propose as a solution would probably work, and if you were consistently flying the same approach would be worth the time to create those user waypoints. What I still don’t understand is what the GFC 700 is responding to from the G1000 flight plan that the KAP 140 does not. ...

Re: Course reversal with G1000 & KAP 140
Bernie/Pietro,
I have dual GPS which tracks flight plan RNAV legs no problem. But once I pass the IAF the A/P seems to be ignoring the course reversal. It’s as if the G1000 is not passing on that guidance.

Course reversal with G1000 & KAP 140
I have a 2005 non-WAAS version and trying to fly RNAV approaches with the G1000/KAP 140 combo. When I fly the outbound course to the IF/IAF the G1000 shows an apprpriate teardrop entry for the course reversal. With the A/P in nav mode it does not fly the teardrop but upon passing the IF outbound tur...

Re: KaaP 140 Problem in Nav mode
Kurt, I’m going to call Diamond Canada on Monday and see what they know about this, if anything. Like yours, mine is also only a few degrees hdg change in the wrong direction before it corrects. Hdg mode does not exhibit any anomalies. Seems like it is caused by an erroneous command from the G1000 l...

KaaP 140 Problem in Nav mode
Recently, after a pitch servo replacement, I noticed that when in Nav mode and sequencing through a waypoint, my KAP 140 starts to roll in the wrong direction then corrects to the new course. Has anyone else seen this problem and know what the cause is? I don’t think it has anything to do with the p...

Re: KAP140 Autopilot Pitch Fault
Just an update on the previous post. Pressing the A/P disconnect switch clears the fault and the aural alert but they return after about 7-8 seconds. If it’s a switch failure it’s not clear how to remove and check the MET and A/P switches. The MET switch has 2 screws which I can remove but the switc...

Re: KAP140 Autopilot Pitch Fault
I may have a different situation than those listed above. Today after transitioning to slow flight while at level altitude and then resuming cruise speed I got a recurring "Check pitch trim" aural alert and a "Trim Fail" msg on the PFD. The aural alert was persistent even after c...
