Re: DA42 log files

Thanks for all the responses. Yes, I have a 2007 DA42 with KAP 140 autopilot. I will try to upload the files as instructed and will post my findings. It is now out for the annual inspection. I am swapping the memory cards also to upgrade. I have a feeling that it will work since the log files are a ...

Re: USB Ports

Hello Colin,

Could you please send me a picture of the location of the USB port. I have two Stratus ports and am still struggling to find the right location. I don't think my DA42 has a cigarette lighter slot at all.

Re: Oil usage

I can just substantiate what others have already said. My DA42 has about 650 hrs on them and still barely use any oil so far. I think it used about half a quart or less per side after over 30 hrs of use.

If you are using foreflight on the iPad, it has the DA 42 checklist.

Re: Ice Protection!

Some of the earlier pre2007 aircraft were sent out without the FIKI certification as it was not yet approved by the FAA. You may be lucky enough that you don’t need a new placard ( some went out with the correct placard even before the certification) or equipment and it will just be a functional te...

Re: Ice Protection!

I had to get my mechanic to inspect my ice protection system and certify it as FIKI. once that is done, you are good. I don't know the regulations in US and how your mechanic can certify the aircraft for something after inspecting it but in EASA-land it's all about the paperwork when certain work/u...

Re: Unbalanced fuel usage

In the Schematics, both fuels crossfeed pipes are completely independent and separate, including the fuel return lines and heat exchangers. So, IT is possible that the cross feed on the side you have more fuel is pulling from the other tank. If there was a leak, you would get a distinctive smell fro...
