Re: Crazy Pricing?

Wow. I sold my 2002, with WAAS, powerflow, 345, and Hartzell composite prop with 1400 hours for 169,000 last September. That seems at least 50,000 short of what it might sell for now.

I only hope my Columbia 400 appreciates as well but I think the DA40 is in a special slot with a lot of appeal.

Re: Feeling overwhelmed with the DA40

Id simplify a little more. Starting For reasons I don’t understand, many people have trouble starting the engine, particularly so-called hot starts when you start after engine has reached full temp on a hot day. Just follow the procedure in the manual. There are people who will tell you different bu...

Re: IO-360 Leaning during cruise climb

Following up on Rich. I took the advanced pilot class some years ago from Deakin and Brally. They say to lean to match EGT on take off from a sea level airport. That is about 1350 in my old 2002. Of course, you should check CHTs and enrichen if they get over 400. I always climbed at WOT and full RPM...

Re: 200 Knot (GS) Club

congrats. based on the EGT show you are flying super rich, btw.

I'm hoping to join the 300 knt some day in the flight levels in my "new" Columbia 400. I think I got up to only 180 or so in my 2002 DA 40.

Re: Has anyone already placed an order for a Pant

Curt Congratulations on your new plane! I’m sure you will love it. The build quality looks exceptional. Please remember the old adage. There are two type of retractable gear pilots — those who have landed gear up and those that will. However, with modern systems of warnings that may be a thing of th...

Re: LOP - What kind of Fuel Flows do you see?

My experiences are as follows 8-10k: 8.2 GPH, 138 TAS ( this is about 50 degrees LOP) 12-14k: 7.2 GPH, 133 TAS ( this is about 70 degrees LOP) At 2300 RPM, WOT. Of course at the higher altitudes, you don’t get as high MP. Max CHT is 370 at 8-10k and somewhat lower at 12-14k. I’d love a vernier mixtu...

Josh

The seat pad yes. Probably not lumbar area. You would have to bring the leather together using a backing piece.

I had worn spots and a 2 inch long cut but not tears like this.

Re: Upholstery

I used IN52 Lgtgray2 as the color from Leatherworld technology. The key to getting good results is to apply everything in very thin coats and be patient. When u use the vinyl filler, also apply very thin coats and sand with 800 grit emery paper. I should have taken before and after pics, but tears a...
