Re: Diamond Aircraft Owner Census

Done but I wonder how many owners are aware of the survey at all because there's a lot of them out there (especially in Europe) who don't participate at this forum.

My only experience with this is my wife once fueled our diesel Sprinter RV with 87 octane gasoline.
Same here (VW Passat) - she drove few hundred meters and it just stopped. Luckily no engine damage but according to mechanics it could be totally trashed.

Re: Time for Diamond USA?

Alabama (Continental for DA-50) I think CD-300 is built in Germany. So either the FAA is indeed "better" or "faster" than Transport CA, or Diamond is using Transport CA as an excuse. I'm choosing to believe Diamond. I believe FAA has much more expertise and people in certifying the aircrafts and av...

Re: g1000 attitude indicator replacement

AFAIK there's something about backup instruments can't have the same software as primary ones. Maybe I'm wrong... I've seen this suggested elsewhere and it didn't make sense to me. For example, both PFD/MFD GDUs run the same software version and one is the backup for the other (e.g. reversionary mo...

Re: DA62 NXi Pending Approvals

Hm... things like checklist are so trivial that I can’t believe any kind of certification is required when added to SW.

Re: Covid19 - Extending Subscriptions

Might be tougher in the States. In most cases we can still fly. Not much to do when we get to destinations, though. Similar here in Croatia, we can fly and destinations are nice but without anything to do, even at the seaside because the beaches are kind of closed. I fly once a week a shoot some ap...

Re: Alternate air related load drop

I checked once again few things yesterday flying at 14.000 and 17.000 feet. Critical altitude for CD-155 engines is 8.000 feet, maximum they can deliver at 14.000 feet is 89% and at 17.000 is 85%. The flight was in smooth air and I flew at least 5 min in each condition to let the things settle. Flyi...
