Re: New checklists available for download

For quite some time I'm using AirChecklists application on iPad. The cool thing about it is ability to share checklists and download and edit checklists created by others:

My checklist is under N392MA.

Re: Looking for a partner at CYBW

Unfortunately DA20 doesn't fit my mission. Most of my flying is crosscountry flights with wife and two kids so I need 4 seater. DA40 is perfectly fine for gentelmen's IFR in California. We have some days during the winter when ice is an issue but on those days only Cessna 210 turbo with FIKI (and co...

Re: iPad in DA40

The 7" cradle isn't 100% ipad friendly in that the mini's on off switch is far enough right on the device that it is barely exposed through the opening in the plastic part that secures the top of the mini. I'm going to take a dremel to mine and open the window up a bit more. Yep. Got to make a...

Re: New to flying the DA-40: a few questions

Rick, do you remember when Dr. Phil fixed your QT Halo? I use QT Halo and didn't have this problem yet. May be I bought mine after the problem was discovered and fixed :D Artiom, it was May of 2010 when I sent my Halo's back for the update. Seems like I bought them maybe a year or more before that....

Re: New to flying the DA-40: a few questions

Welcome, Alex. Since several others have already covered most of your questions, I will say something about your headset squeal. I had the same problem, with two different types of headsets, in my first DA40. One was a Lightspeed Zulu, and the other was a Quiet Technologies Halo. In BOTH cases, the...

Re: Abnormal electrical activities during a xc

I typically see 10-11 Amps on 2005 G1000 DA40. I would actually worry about 40+ Amps reading.

Re: Fuel Gauges

Hey guys! I noticed that on the g1000 you can go on the MFD, and reset the fuel level to full tanks. Questions... will doing this affect the readout that you see on the gauges located on the left-hand side of the MDF? Example... let's say that in each tank I have 5 gallons of fuel, for a total of 1...

Re: is it possible to stall the rudder?

If you *really* want to maximise your sink rate and minimize your forward velocity then stalling the airplane works ;) In all seriousness, slowing down to take advantage of the extra induced drag "on the back side of the curve" decreases your stall margin and could lead to an accelerated ...
