Re: Interior - leather on seats

Norm Johnson at Master Rigger Sewing Service (Atlanta area, Georgia USA) did the interior of my DA40 back then. If he is still in business I can certainly recommend him. +1-770-684-7298. I'd suggest to think about vinyl instead of leather - if you have kids ;-) Also a good time to think about the ri...

Re: Custom Aircraft Trimmers aka Jason Cooper

The shop that does the interiors for the factory in London is an automotive shop. As Antoine pointed out, there are no issues. I bet a really high end custom car shop could do an amazing job. When I bought my '05 DA40 in 2010 I had the fabric interior redone by a local shop in Georgia. Norman did a...

Fuel drain valve question

Hello, Today after preflight just before I was ready to start I noticed a small amount of fuel under the left wing. I had sampled it about 10 minutes earlier. No dripping before that. When I drained it again it did not stop draining and fuel continued to spill. Half a bucket full of avgas later we m...

Re: Lost com G1000

It was the audio panel. Replacing it was $800 or so. No more issues. Good luck! Carsten

Re: Looking for gunk remover recommendation

I'd try canola oil or some other cooking oil. It might work and shouldn't be aggressive to the surface finish.
It's a little messy but so is every other product I assume.

Re: G1000 Backlight question....

My understanding is that the MFD is supposed to be on a brighter setting since the LCD technology 10 years ago had a rather narrow viewing angle. Therefore the MFD appears less bright to the pilot. This is compensated by a brighter setting. If in auto-dim mode the MFD should be on a brighter value. ...

Re: AHRS / Heading Indicator Gremlin

Hello, When I got my '05 DA40-180 a few years ago I was very concerned about the intermittent heading x-outs on the ground. It always came back on time and I think I got used to it. At my home base at LZU I start up between metal hangars and as long as I am stationary heading indicator is always ok....

Re: Flying with Baby

Hi all, We just had our first child six days ago, and one thing that's been on my mind (aside from how do I get this thing to sleep?) is when little Olivia can go flying with me. I have no experience here, does anyone have any advice? ... Hi Steven, How is it going with Olivia? At what age have you...

Re: High Fuel Pressure Warning

resurrected thread from the dead... (...) Did you ever figure out yours Carsten? Mechanic consensus was it's probably a sensor issue. I could not reproduce it nor did it ever happen again. We cleaned the sensor contacts after the flight but did not go through swapping the fuel and oil pressure sens...
