Re: Dynamic propeller balancing
Yes, I do prop balancing. My three blade MT prop has a mandatory service requirement, so I had it balanced during the service.

Re: Stupid pilot tricks
Hitting something with my wing is one thing I obsess about. To the point that I'm contemplating installation of cameras in wingtips of my RV-10 which I'm building very slowly. Many-many years ago in an airplane which was probably 200 times larger than DA40 we hit a lamp post. That did not prevent us...

Absolutely yes! You will see me at CCO in August.
Sure, we will take a ride and I will gladly try RV-7.

Pilot performance ups and downs
Last Monday for no particular reason I decided to do some touch and gos. And so I did - making one bad landing after another and after another. I was changing speed, MP, aiming point, pattern leg lengths. Nothing worked. It was late afternoon, I was not tired or anything, but I just could not land t...

Re: Fuel cards for AvGas
Thank you all for your comments. Oh, yes, it is always pays to research fuel prices and talk to people at big FBOs. Is it in FAR or AIM, where it goes something like this: "what does a pilot need to know about before flight?"; answer: "everything". So after talking to FBO, I some...

Fuel cards for AvGas
Hi all! Do you use any fuel cards for AvGas? If you do, what kind? Are there any? We've been using our regular Amex which gets us points, but does not offer any fuel discounts. When at a class B airport, I may start coughing when I learn what I need to pay for a gallon of AvGas, so sometimes a good ...

Upgrading regular canopy to bubble canopy
Hi all! For a while I've been mulling over a thought about installing a bubble canopy on my 2007 DA40. I fantasize that I will get more head room, sun visors, and a new glass (not that my current glass is bad). I finally went ahead and asked for a quote. Maybe, when I see the cost, I will just forge...

Re: Airport of Entry in Canada
Hi,
Sorry, this is off subject, but relates to Canada and US.
I want to fly from Cleveland, OH to Mackinac Island, probably VFR and try direct. This will take me over Canadian airspace. Has anyone flown that route? I wonder if I need to do anything special outside if just flight following. Thanks!
