Re: STC for scimitar props from MT for all Diesel engines soon available
Hi Salim, I am afraid this will take some time, I do not expect much flying in the weeks to come, sorry for that… But the idea about pushing for Scimitars was based upon Emir's comments from the CD155 upgrade project. The discussion after some substantial set of test flights you can find here: https...

Re: STC for scimitar props from MT for all Diesel engines soon available
Happy to inform that I just did first flights with Scimitar propellers on my 2.0 DA42… :) It took over a year from the idea to installation, I would say it was quite an achievement, as the new STC for 2.0 engines was needed. Great job of Martin and his team from MT-Propeller, with bit of persistence...

Re: Dynon Avionics - seeking an alternative to Garmin
Please take me into account for that. Although not in an urgent need now, but in 2-3 years I will need to upgrade to some more current set than the “best an only” G1000 screens... Mainly due to WAAS and spare parts issues. Hopefully Dynon ends this Garmin/Diamond legacy saga... 10. DA42, D-GJHO, for...

Re: TDI owners: outdated Garmin G1000 software (version 9.05)
I think I can concur what Emir said… In some Mai/June I was in touch with the management of Diamond, asking if after Mr. Dries sell of the company to the Wanfeng group the new owners plan any changes in Diamond’s approach towards TDI planes. Was assured than that they are aware of the problem in thi...

Re: Is there any EASA country that approves time extension of Thielert 2.0 (CD135) in DA42?
Thank you for the idea. As I understand your suggestion is first to go to engine manufacturer, after that to CAA for approval of what was agreed (providing success in the first step). Right? I am only wondering, for Conti to cooperate in this process looks like of little sense… Their business is sel...

Re: Is there any EASA country that approves time extension of Thielert 2.0 (CD135) in DA42?
Hi Karl, Thank you for the response, engines are 2.0. 12 years is not a manufacturer’s requirement, it is recommendation. In case of Lycs or Contis – it is pretty the same, AFAIK. Many CAA’s (including German LBA) allow Lycs and Contis to be flown past time recommendation, hourly limits are usually ...

Is there any EASA country that approves time extension of Thielert 2.0 (CD135) in DA42?
My engines will reach 12 years soon, but still are far from 1500h limit (around 900h now). Plane is D-reg, maintenance says – replacement will be a must, German CAA (LBA) treats 12 years manufacturer’s recommendation as an obligatory limit for engine change… I do not think such an approach is of muc...

Is there going to be any difference in performance if exhaust gases add to lift instead of thrust?

Re: Tug for 42-VI
I have ordered the Sidewinder. Any issues with taking the lithium battery on board during flight? Cheers Hello David, No issues with the battery during flights so far. I think Lithum batteries may be an issue if you short-circuit them or expose to excess heat, in nose compartment none of such shall...
