Re: Question about the backup battery.
Laptops, phones, etc. contain a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. They typically have a life time of 300-500 charge cycles or 3 years. The latest modely may outlast 1.000 cycles but no more than 3 years. The lithium batteries in the DA40 come with an expiration date (shelf life) of 10 years printed ...

Re: AOA indicators, any experiences out there.
The integration of the AoA sensor into Perspective Software (Cirrus) does not stop at the AOP graphic display: The PFD displays the VREF on the speed tape according to weight and AoA, so in addition to Vx, Vy, Vg also the VREF is displayed. On final: Slow down from VREF+10 to VREF+5 on short final a...

Re: AOA indicators, any experiences out there.
The Gamin code to display AoA indicators on G1000 does exist. Look at Perspective Software from Cirrus. It would require updating the DAI software for the DA40 and 42. At least the DA40 software has not been updated since 05 Oct 2009 (Version 0321.22). No update in 11 years that only requires paperw...

Re: SureFly Electronic Ignition
This all sound I will have to wait quite some time before I can install my SF magnet in my DA40 - and before that get the SF fixed with whatever the final solution might be.

Re: SureFly Electronic Ignition
My incentive to buy the SureFly was the advance timing. Would it not be better fur SF to fix what is broken?

Hello Scott, thank you for debugging! Your reports are very much appreciated! In this case I will delay my installation and wait it out.

Re: SureFly Electronic Ignition
I just bought a SureFly EI for my DA40 and the reason it is not installed yet is due to the fact it only arrived in Europe one day after my AI was completed. Now installation takes 800-1000 € just to sign the 337 form without the work done due to the requirements to have an FAA A&P travel to my ...
