Thank you all and Farewell

Hi guys, not sure where to post this, hope it is appropriate in this section. I wanted to say thank you and it has been a real pleasure to be here. Thank you for all the advice, information, your experiences and thoughts. Great site and great topics, wealth of information. It is my last post, and I ...

Re: Pipistrel Panthera

I ruled out the Tecnam twin based on its poor safety record. Too many dead people after a few crash/burn accidents. Otherwise it would have been great.

Re: Pipistrel Panthera

Alexander allow me a bit of teasing: Dont care about speed but do care about retractable? :D This is the aviation equivalent of platonic love! Very true :) But a real airplane is retractable :) it just looks right that way I don't mind speed, but it is not important. I will trade some of it for the...

Re: Pipistrel Panthera

Not resisting, that's not correct. Let's see, for me the selling points (purely those that matter to me): 1. Great looking airplane, ok - it is officially sexy! 2. retractable gear 3. clean, efficient design 4. "probably" hand-flies nicely 5. Hope the visibility is as good as the Diamond T...

Re: Pipistrel Panthera

How's the short field and soft filed performance is looking for it? Will it be better than a DA40?

Re: Pipistrel Panthera

I will play a bit of a devil's advocate here for a minute. So what does it bring to the table over the DA40? 1. proven safety record? 2. better flying envelope (i.e. aerobatic capabilities, or better slow flight, stall etc)? 3. Better IFR platform? FIKI, system redundancy etc? 4. is it half the cost...

Moonshine, thanks a bunch! I also read through the rest of the forum. I was not aware of it, a lot of good stuff in there. Though the guys certainly have a different perspective on things. Refreshing, in a way :D

Охренеть, нифига себе :)

Not too shabby, the guy certainly has the balls. An engine out in many of those places means you're done. Landing over there at Novaja Zemlja certainly tops it.

Great pictures though, great trip. Hat's off.
