Re: Air conditioner failures

My DA40NG AC aux panel failed recently, i have 600 hours now. The failure was progressive, turn on the Aux Power, observe the small LED, press the on/off, get AC, good. Then on occasion i observed: press on/off, watch the LED fade out and no AC, dang. Sometimes later in the same flight it would work...

Re: Crack on the leading edge

These do look like paint coat cracks to me also. My only qualification for this observation is owning several older sailplanes, some of which did exhibit paint cracking like this and were eventually refinished to remain airworthy. While the paint cracks are not structural, they can, if left unchecke...

Re: Flying with Dogs

i did find some observations here :
https://pilotsnpaws.org/forum/viewtopic ... 08#p149254
which does suggest <= 8,000 for healthy mature dog. Monitoring the dog breathing/comfort during flight seems prudent also.

Re: Import broker for Canadian DA40 to USA?

I have not done this, but in my research I learned that my local Diamond Service Center could perform the required work. If i recall, this requires at least a ferry flight permit to cover the entry into the USA followed by a change of registration. Including new decals, logbook entry and inspection ...
