I can certainly when the cowling comes off next week for oil change. It goes in the oil cooler and not in the same location as winterization kit.

Re: Winter Kit- High CHT and Low Oil Temps
Aluminum tape and approximately 50% of cooler covered in my case also. Last year I did not take it off in summer either and there were no issues with oil temps. I’m based at Keene NH.

Re: Accelerated IFR training in DA40 - recommendations?
I received my IFR rating a few months ago and took the traditional route of weekend flying for a year and a half, ~60 hrs + 20 I had from before. It was one of the most challenging things I have done. I read multiple sources, including the FAR/AIM, Gleim IFR books, King videos, and every other sourc...

I second the Kool Scoops. Brings in a ton of airflow and fits well. Today 80 degrees and 90% humidity and the cool breeze was a god send.

CFII in New England
I had a trip planned to Colorado Springs for seven days to attend the flying physicians association meeting in my DA40, leaving Wednesday or Thursday (7 or 8th) with a mountain flying course tagged at the end. Unfortunately, my CFII, who was to accompany me, had to back out. Does anyone know of a CF...

Re: Oxygen Concentrator
I just bought the Inogen G5 from Main Clinic Supply. They just needed to see a scan of my pilot certificate. The customer service was really excellent and they even had a winter sale - $2364 for the G5 with a large and a small battery, a few canals and a carrying case. My sales person was Rachel at...

Re: New DA40 owner | First Plane | what are common mistakes?
Don't let the rear door open past the hinge stops. That can happen with strong gusts of wind or uninformed passengers. The area around the hinges is prone to cracking and the repair is non-trivial. I learned that the hard way. I've installed a piece of Dyneema (non-stretching) rope between the ends...

Re: Potential source of Lean of Peak fuel flow imbalance
I replaced mine troubleshooting my SIM4N issues (in the end went back to mag and flying great). Just make sure the A&P torqued the fuel lines, as mine did not, the main fuel line to the spider was hanging by two threads, MIF.
