Re: Rudder pedal spring snapped

My spring also snapped in the same place as Charles showed. Rick thought the spring could be sourced from possibly a hardware store. Can anyone rekindle this post and give price and replacement ideas, thanks (2006 DA40) My copilot spring just snapped, too. I have the manual pedals. Has anyone succe...

Re: DA40 Adding the extended luggage compartment

There is a Service bulletin (OSB40-028) with related Work Instructions that describes the installation process. The several WI's would give insight into the various tasks and parts required. Just asking Diamond support would likely get you copies of these WIs. Rich, I’ve got the WIs - I just need t...

Re: DA40 Adding the extended luggage compartment

I know it is a bit of an old topic, but I wanted to add that I have an extended baggage compartment in my storage room that I am not using. If interested, let me know. I also believe I have a ski tube that is not being used, just sitting around. Hey Jonathan, I’m definitely interested! Or if anyone...

Re: Overhead Light Air

Here is my original pilot map light disassembled. Sometime, years ago, the device was broken. I never use the thing so I couldn't tell you when it happened. I had thought the bulb simply burned out. I figured I'd replace the bulb with a LED. When I started to remove the fixture I discovered the swi...

Re: Fuel odor with boost pump on

Boost pump turned out fine. We ran the boost pump with the cowling off and found the hose leading from the fuel pump to the motor was cross-threaded causing a minor leak. The mechanic is ordering a new fitting and will replace it as soon as it is in!

Re: JR Air Filter Replacement

I had to replace mine around 15 years old because the rubber collar somehow got torn. But other then visible physical damage there is no stated reason for replacement. Maybe if oil analysis shows excessive silicon. Good to know. Oil analysis is fine. My IA said a Brackett BA6108 may fit. We’re goin...

Re: JR Air Filter Replacement

Search the forum by "filter" and you'll pull up a couple of threads on the JR filter. Here's one on how to clean them -- https://www.diamondaviators.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=47389&hilit=filter#p47389 They are made in France and difficult to source, but don't have to changed often. Ap...

JR Air Filter Replacement

Airplane is going in for annual in a few days and my I/A is wanting me to pre-order a replacement air filter. This is my first annual and am trying to figure out either how to source a JR filter or a replacement that we can use. I’ve tried to search on the Brackett site, but it refers to a Diamond S...

In mine it is simply Tefzel insulated wire, about 18 gauge I think.
Thank you! Planning to replace mine at annual in a couple weeks.
