Sounds like a good idea, but everything you put in permanently should/would get an STC for the operation. Do you fly IFR ?

Re: Help with the DA42 steep turn
Best trick is more practice. I spent a day prior my check ride and practiced to a level that I feel confident with my steep turns.
Also, depends on the temperature, pressure, altitude and aircraft weight, the power setting will vary.

Re: Help with the DA42 steep turn
I used 47% Pwr for my power setting and increases to 57% during the steep turn. Pitch up first before slowly bank to ~55 degree and hold my Attitude between 3-5 degree depends on my observation of the Altitude gain or loss.

Re: In flight cellular connectivity options
Thank you, Dave and Bryce. Could be an interesting option to try out if I don't go all in from the get go. I'm out of Chicago so there is corn in basically all directions with little to no service at cruising altitudes. Which airport are you based at? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: In flight cellular connectivity options
Following… GA usage of cellular service or satellite service is a unique topic particularly for GA CX pilots that frequently fly higher altitude with no access to cellphone data while en-route. It has the unique challenge of balance between cost to develop and the return of the benefits. I chatted w...

Re: Engine cowling upgrade to dash VI?
Glad to help. Also, forgot to mention there's an AD requiring fuel injector replacement every 900 FH. AFAIK that's the only time limits that are mandatory for Part 91 Austro operators, aside from the publicized piston oil analysis / replacement requirement for certain serial numbers. Got it. Wish D...

Re: Engine cowling upgrade to dash VI?
It's no longer possible to overhaul any Austro engine, due to an Austro policy change. The good news is that for part 91, we are not obligated to abide by any time limits. The bad news is that you must buy a new full-price engine once the time comes for your engine. Roger that. Thank for the info !...

Re: Engine cowling upgrade to dash VI?
IIRC when I was checking different upgrade options, DAI told me that NG to -VI upgrade was not possible. A bummer. I'd be willing to pay to get those 10 knots... But that was when the engines were TBO. Now with TBR policy it might be different. So, it will be absolutely TBR or it’s not mandatory fo...

Re: Engine cowling upgrade to dash VI?
I wish it were possible to do when swapping engines.. but I don't think Diamond allows this. Would be happy to be proven wrong though!
