Re: AUX tank fuel pump failure - mandatory 10 year overhaul?
... update: the German DSC confirmed that there is no 10 year replacement or overhaul of those pumps called for in the Diamond Service Manual... I have asked them to check with the Diamond factory in Austria why this is the case, so if an MSB comes out to have those old Dukes pumps replaced after 10 ...

AUX tank fuel pump failure - mandatory 10 year overhaul?
On my recent trip with my DA42NG N86RK from Germany to the USA the left aux tank transfer fuel pump failed half way between Wick (Scotland) and Reykjavik. While we were lucky in many ways (a: it failed after half of the 13Gal had been transferred, so we landed with 6 gals total in Reykjavic instead ...

Re: Where and how to mount a GoPro to view the front wheel
Here a little update:
I took the idea of Trevor but instead of the expensive and for this application too bulky MyPilot Pro Mount I found some items on Amazon which make for a more streamlined mount which also does not protrude below the tail.

Re: Towing DA62
Taking this a bit off-topic, I have a DA42NG with new Beringer Brakes, so my stock towbar did not fit. I just flew the airplane from Germany to North Carolina where I landed on the grass strip NC26. A neighbor has a brackett towbar. I talked to Roy at Brackett, send him pictures of my Beringer ...

Re: Where and how to mount a GoPro to view the front wheel
Por,
sure, but I guess I would mount the camera after landing so I don't need wingwalkers the 1/4 mile to my hangar... I guess the bracket can stay on, then one would just loose the bracket... The Nflightcam bracket seems to mount the camera a bit higher so might be better suited to keep it on ...

Re: Where and how to mount a GoPro to view the front wheel
Trevor,
thanks, excellent feedback! Seems like the Nflightcam is sold out right now and as I'm flying back to Germany in 2.5 weeks I might not get it. Where exactly did you mount the MyPilot Pro Mount? The flight manual says:
"Near the lower end of the tail fin of the airplane there is a hole which ...

Where and how to mount a GoPro to view the front wheel
Hi,
this August I plan to fly my DA42NG from Germany to my airpark lot in North Carolina (NC26; Dave, you've been there...) and after crossing the pond and landing on the grass runway the main issue (and actually my biggest headache) will be how to navigate the narrow 50ft "taxiway" (roads etc) to ...

G1000 MFD AUX Video In connection
Hello,
not sure if this question is ok here or better in another forum.
I have a DA42NG, and on the private airstrip I plan to fly to this summer (and then possibly keep the DA42 there) taxiways are very narrow, 50ft at best, so around 3ft each side and then trees, hills and retaining walls. My ...

Re: Alt load imbalance
Just some add on info on this topic.
Our 2005 DA42NG has had a load imbalance on the ground ever since we had it. Constant annoying left Alt fail. Goes away as soon as power goes above 30-50%. Load on the left about 7A, on the right more than 20A.
So I just turn on the left aux fuel pump on the ...

Re: New Brakes, Tubeless Tires
Hi all,
I'd like to get the Beringer brakes installed on my DA42NG as I want to bring it from Germany to my airpark lot in North Carolina next year (NC26; Dave landed his -VI here a couple of years ago).
Diamond quoted the Beringer kit in line with previous prices mentioned here. However the price ...
