Re: Business configuration (STC 62-002)

Very exciting - can’t wait to see it! It should be retrofittable to other 62s but I would imagine to do so would not be cheap… thanks and congrats!

Re: DA42 vs BeechA36 or Cirrus for long distance

I also flew a Piper M600 (basically a Meridian with a bigger wing and more fuel/range, plus a higher VMO of 251 KIAS). Loved it - we just sold it last November. The M600 and Meridian cabins are identical. The passenger cabin is REALLY comfortable in the Meridian … I loved being back there. Pressuriz...

Re: Ceramic Coating for DA-40 NG

As noted in some of those other threads, I did the coating on my 62 and it looks great. No issues so far and I've not really heard of any...

Re: Into my first annual with my 62….impressions

Postscript: While I'm very interested and really looking forward to trying the new radar and comparing it to the GWX 70 we had in the turbine (especially after the GWX8000 upgrade down the line), I'm actually most excited about the new landing lights! It will be such a pleasure to actually see where...

Re: Into my first annual with my 62….impressions

For the record, while the fuel probe issue was identified by me (and observed by the DSC) when I went in to get the oil change), they didn't have the chance at that time to test it - just observe the reading on the G1000NXi - and we decided to defer it a few months until the annual. But the issue wa...

Re: Into my first annual with my 62….impressions

Yes well thanks all. The planes are great but the service not so much. And I’m considering asking for compensation as well as a day for day warranty extension because it is ridiculous. These are expensive aircraft. I understand that I may get nothing of course.

Re: Into my first annual with my 62….impressions

Posting a quick update. It’s been nearly 7 weeks since I dropped off my 62 at Premier and the annual is STILL not completed. Despite alerting Premier for months that I wanted the radar installed, only just last week did the parts show up (and to Premier in Ft. Lauderdale, not Fort Worth). Worse stil...

Re: Landing Light Performance

I’m replacing the ballasts on my 62 at the current annual - apparently that makes a huge difference and the new units were not expensive at all. Will report. The stock units are laughably dim… makes no sense because the alternative units are the same but higher powered from the same manufacturer. So...
