Re: Help. Anyone have VM1000 EGT probes?
Sorry for the late reply. I sill have a few VM1000 parts left including 2 EGT probes. I’ll leave this post here in case anyone is looking for parts in the future.

Re: Recommendations on Diamond Certified shops
While we’re on the subject, I wouldn't mind a recommendation for a shop/mechanic in the Minnesota-Wisconsin-Illinois area. I live in Minneapolis but used to fly to Illinois for my annual. This year’s annual was in Minneapolis, but I don’t think I’ve found my maintenance home yet. Has anyone been to ...

Re: DA40 transponder repair/upgrade
I’ve had the Garmin 345 my panel for 6 years and it’s been trouble free. The traffic and weather go to my 530w/430w and to anything else I can connect via bluetooth - Foreflight.

Re: Important hangar features
I just moved into a new rental hangar that has all that, except it’s a bifold door and the floor and apron are heated. Thanks for your suggestions. If I stay here I may not need to build, but if I do follow through with building a new hangar then the experience with this one should help a lot.

Re: Redline tow tugs DA40NG
I haven’t tried a Sidewinder, but I recently bought a Minimax tug for my DA40-180 with wheel fairings, and like it. It also uses an electric drill for power, and costs about the same. I haven’t used it in the winter though. Adding the “easy mover” wheels and the new locking mechanism is worth the ...

Garmin GMU magnetometer
I'm thinking about replacing my electric attitude indicator and Bendix King HSI with Garmin GI-275s. It looks like the GI-275s, the G5s and the G3X all use the Garmin GMU 11 magnetometer. My questions are really about the magnetometer. For those who have switched to any of the above flight ...

Re: Help problems with KAP 140 AP
In August I posted that a new KAP-140 autopilot computer fixed my roll control problem. Well the autopilot failed again after about 10 hrs. The stick stayed centered and the plane slowly banked off to the heavier side. I disconnected the AP but engaged it again a couple of times and verified that ...

Re: DA-40 Lycoming and steam
I see them for sale at Airmart.com on a regular basis. There’s one on the website currently. You could probably contact them now with your request and get notified before future planes are posted. Or you can register to look at the log books of the planes that are posted. Good luck!
