Re: Air Conditioning
The price you got for the new control panel sounds about right. You can only get them from Premier. The installation cost me $3800. It seemed pretty tricky. There were some complications that cost extra. If you send me your email address I can send you the invoice from the installation. To get the ...

Re: Air Conditioning
I had the original touchscreen replaced with the knob and button replaced 2 years ago. It works fine and should last a very long time. It’s a very simple control box.
It may take more than one day to install if the shop has never done it before. The wiring seemed tricky, it’s not a plug and play ...

Re: AngelFlight/PALS with DA-40
The back seat seems to be easier than the front. More places for them to grab onto and if they step on to the back seat it’s got more surface area.

Re: AngelFlight/PALS with DA-40
I’ve been doing AngelFlights for years. I am limited on weight and it’s a worry about getting some of the people up on the wing and into the airplane. Still, I can do at least 75% of the available flights. My next flight I have to have one of the passengers up front for balance, this is often the ...

First 94UL flight
I’m KAPA based and we have had 94UL around a year. I finally got the STC signed off and did a flight this morning with half 100LL and half 94UL. I couldn’t notice any difference. It seemed to run cooler than straight 100LL, too soon to tell of course. I have fine wire and GAMI. It was smooth at peak ...

I didn’t see Matt’s post on page 3. So what I wrote is a long winded duplication.

Re: Annual frustration
Just to add to the discussion on the Major Structural Inspection. It’s every 12 years no matter how many hours. I was hoping the phone call from the maintenance shop was for me to pick up my airplane from the annual. I knew the planes was finally back together and was planning on being done today ...

Re: Loose blades found in annual
The prop has to come off the airplane. It’s then taken apart and some parts have to get replaced.the hub does come apart during this process. I think there are springs and whatnot that forces the blades outward into place. It’s my understanding standing that once the blades start to spin they lock ...

Re: Loose blades found in annual
I did have it dynamically balanced after the overhaul. I’ll have it down again just in case it helps. I keep asking myself is it something I'm doing. I do pull the plane out of the hanger but I mostly pull on the tow bar and not on the propeller. If I ever pull on the propeller it’s at the very base ...
