Re: Thoughts on a 2004/2005 DA-40
I sold my 2005 (with a 2006 serial number) in March. It was legacy G1000, which was OK with me since I’m just VFR, but I had added Synthetic Vision. It was a great airplane and a huge upgrade from my 1979 C172. What it came down to was that we weren’t flying much anymore, and it’s a pricey hobby whe...

Re: A very big deal -- FAA Approves G100UL for ALL GA piston spark-ignition aircraft
The other elephant in the room is that much of the general public is misinformed about GA—in some cases openly hostile. Continuing to use leaded gas has been not just a talking point for them, but an actual argument used to try and shutdown GA and local airports. This totally removes that arrow from...

Re: Fatal UT accident appears to be DA40
It was actually quite cool. We had a very cool, rainy Friday, and it has cleared and warmed only slightly since. But it will be hot by midweek.I can think of a list of the usual suspects for this kind of problem. I'm guessing it was fairly warm down in Southern Utah yesterday?

And having 4 seats doesn’t mean you should take 4 people. This is just up the road from me.

Re: Flying with Dogs
Made me remember to change my avatar. My baby girl, Tess. Wondering why she's not in first class, and where the flight attendant is with the snack tray. She doesn't mind flying at all. She liked the 172 better--I think it was less noisy. Mostly lays down all the way across the back seat.

Re: Feeling overwhelmed with the DA40
Had a similar situation when I sold my 1979 steam gauge C172 and got a 2005 DA40 with G1000. Do what feels right to you. I did one checkout with a CFI.(He’s my bi-annual review guy now). First flight in a low wing airplane and first with a stick instead of a yoke, so I was a wee bit apprehensive. Du...

That’s interesting. Reading this forum, we’ve almost been led to believe Cirrus is bending over backward to provide upgrades.

Re: Santa’s runway
I'm not quite sure of the runway identifier, but Santa definitely has an instrument approach because as we all know, the North Pole is subject to IMC at that time of year...and according to the Jepp chart, the final approach course is 360! So I think the OP should show this to their friend's child ...
