I noticed today that the not-compatible banner has been dropped from Garmin's website, and the system requirements now simply read OS 10.11 or higher. My DA40 is in extended annual right now, so can't verify soup to nuts that everything is working, but seems to be a good sign.

Any idea if we’ll see an increase in max gross (and subsequently useful load) for the North American version? I recall the European specs seeming to be limited for tax reasons.
