Re: DA-20 prices high, no inventory????
I still think of making another run at the mothballed DA20 that's here in town but after putting 40 hours on my CTLS I believe I made the right decision to pass. My cost of entry was half the price of what's out there of the same vintage plus parachute/no mixture/modern avionics/autopilot/service......

Re: DA-20 prices high, no inventory????
I can't explain the prices on Controller. I've got a subscription to aircraft bluebook and for a if those numbers are to be trusted the ones listed in the US are way off. I wish them luck but I'd imagine they will be for sale quite a while.

Re: How to value a DA20
There was a thread a while back that ran down all the potential avenue's for autopilot install and my take was that it was essentially impossible without finding a wrecked DA-20 with an autopilot to salvage. From what I recall there were less than 15 from the factory. Ever. I called Diamond and coul...

Re: How to value a DA20
The DA20 is much more fun to hand fly but I'm really never flying low and slow, always headed somewhere.

Re: How to value a DA20
Steven, another issue that I really didn't appreciate until I bought my current plane is autopilot. My CTLS has a TruTrak and the benefit is massive for me with cross country. I just flew to Oshkosh and that was 5+ hours each way. As far as I know there is no mechanism to add autopilot to a DA20. Th...

Re: How to value a DA20
That was my plan, to do all the repairs/work myself, just trying to figure out what the aircraft was worth considering what I would need done. The couple with the plane are not focused on selling at this time and I got tired of waiting to even have a conversation about price. I bought a CTLS and hav...

Went another direction-CTLS
Thanks to all here who have answered my questions and given input. I couldn't get the local DA20 owners to every make a decision and there aren't many around to pick from. I ended up buying a 2008 Flight Design CTLS. N230C. I pick it up tomorrow. Went up in a test flight and it was very similar to t...

Silly question, this is for all Continental engines, not just diesel correct?
