Re: 2000 hour inspection
I am based at 0TX1 in Granbury, Texas, and have also been using US Aviation at Denton for the maintenance of my DA40, including my just-completed annual. Even during simple 50-hour oil changes, they have caught important issues. I find them technically excellent, very friendly, and more than fair on...

Re: Seem like a fair price?
The 'W' in the spec listing of "Dual Garmin GIA 63W" stands for WAAS.
I'm a DA40 owner who has been considering a DA42 and has looked at the market. This does seem like a decent price.

Re: Jet Lag in a DA40 - Ferrying a DA40 from USA to Sydney
Hats off to you: what an adventure!
My dream is to do a long ferry flight along similar lines.
Could you say a bit about your ferry tanks, beginning with the 195 gallon arrangement for Seosamh's solo to Hilo?

Re: Ferry tanks?
Thanks again. Very interesting. I will continue to research and keep you updated on any progress. I did read your postings on your trip from Thailand to Spain: what an adventure. I have lived and traveled in many countries, but even so I found your experiences of dealing with red tape, bureaucracy, ...

Ferry tanks?
Reading Barry Schiff's article in the November AOPA magazine about ferrying a plane [back in the day before GPS, etc.] to Hawaii has sparked my desire to do something similar. Does anyone have experience or know about the possibilities of installing ferry tanks in a DA40? If you flew high, lean slow...

Re: Who here does their own oil changes?
While there are obviously a number of good techniques for DIY oil changes, let me give a very recent illustration of why it can be a good idea to have a good A&P do it. Just this week I took my DA40 to US Aviation in Denton, TX [KDTO] for a 50-hour maintenance, which basically amounts to an oil ...
