Re: New DA62 x words of wisdom from seasoned owners

A number of people here have a DA62 on order. To facilitate seeing the orders, the backlog, and the slips in schedule, I'd like to invite those with a DA62 on order, or who recently took delivery, to enter their information on this shared Excel sheet. If any problems, please PM me. Thanks, Russ http...

Re: New DA62 x words of wisdom from seasoned owners

Would somebody who took delivery of a DA62 in the last year or so post their actual W&B page?

Re: New DA62 Interior Option - Lounge Seat Option

I've been futzing with the W&B on my seven-seat 62 constantly for the past couple of weeks. The thing is really nose-heavy, to the point where you actually need a lot of extra mass placed well back in the plane if you've got big people in the front seats. Do you see the DA62 as inherently nose ...

Re: DA40NG Coolant Leak and ECU A Failure

I had four flights with partial power loss this year (three after the problem was "fixed") and those will never show up in the database. I really enjoyed my test flight of the NG, however 4 partial power losses in one year... yikes. After 500+ hours in the Lycoming nothing but reliability...

Re: Emergency landing checklist

The difference is that the vast majority of aircraft are made of aluminum, and the structure of the aircraft is expected to deform as it absorbs impact forces in a crash -- potentially jamming exit doors shut. In contrast, composite aircraft structures fracture or break rather than deform. So a Dia...

Emergency landing checklist

Most emergency landing checklists advise unlatching the doors to facilitate exit after the landing in the event the doors might become jammed and prevent egress. Neither the DA40 or DA62 checklists include that step. The only reason I could think of is that perhaps the canopy / doors make a contribu...

Re: Which GA-35 antenna is connected to GIA63W #2?

With the hangar doors open I get pretty good GPS reception. Certainly good enough to tell which one is covered up.

Re: Moving from DA40-XLS to DA40-NG Questions

Another concern, probably unfounded, is that almost all of my flights in the XLS end up being around 6000 to 8000 feet, mostly because of clouds. Seemed like no matter what time of year I flew, cloud bases were right at 6000. Even though the plane is perfectly capable of IFR (as am I), who wants to...

PM me with your email and I'll send you the entire AFM for my plane, w/o AC, including the W&B. Or just the W&B if you don't want the AFM.
