So called Penn Yan the said 16 weeks and no new cylinders, everything is overhauled. They want $33600, Zephyr engines said 6 months and wanted $29200. No one has any engines for exchange, looks like this is going to be a waiting game.

I am also in the Mike Bush camp of isn't broke don't fix it. We made the mistake of doing a lease back on it this year, I personally witnessed pilots without proper training trying to start the engine and backfiring the plane. Flying around without ever leaning the engine. Flying with low oil levels...

I found one from Safesky - theirs has a crack in it.

Call Diamond factory yesterday, they said no windscreen in stock, and it would be 12 weeks to get one. They said can't you just do a temp repair :) I don't think that is possible. They asked me to send a photo of the damage, and see if they could get permission to sell one from the production line. ...

I did save a feather to send off. Called Diamond (Premier) today they said $8300 for a new glass and 12 weeks to get it! Anyone have a lead on a salvage canopy? Some of the bird ended up in the back seat, and some of the glass went inside. The bird didn't hit the prop only the canopy. The frame is fine, it almost looked like he was aiming for the pilots head.

It was noisy, but the plane actually did very well. Any suggestions on finding out if I could get the updated canopy glass? Who would I need to call>?

I will have to take a look at the thickness when I get back to the plane.

Looks like part number is DA4-5210-20-00 (clear) or DA4-5210-20-00+(color code) anybody got one laying around?
