Re: What tug to get?

Rich, the A3 was just shy of $4k with shipping. Shipping was approx. $500 if I remember correctly. Regarding using the A3 to get the DA40 over the hangar door tracks, it handles it without any issue at all. The trick is to center the plane (I have a line on the back wall that I line up with the tail...

Re: What tug to get?

I use a Best Tugs Alpha 3 but still need metal ramps to get across my hangar door tracks. The plane still needs to be lined up perfectly as the plane will twist if one main gear hits the ramp before the other. I just ordered an Alpha 3. Do you have a recommendation for metal ramps? I was hoping the...

Re: Hangar Furniture

Or stated another way, the wait list at JYO is 5 years! Fortunately I put my name on all the local waitlists and just got a hangar at HEF after two years of waiting. Sadly it's an hour drive away compared to my current 5-10 minute drive to JYO. So I'm envious of everyone that has a hangar at their &...

Re: TDI owners: outdated Garmin G1000 software (version 9.05)

Count me in. I'd love upgraded software even though I've already installed a GTX345R the “hard” way. Hardware upgrade path to NXi would be awesome too if the price is right.

Re: ADS In / Sirius WX redundant?

I do not subscribe to XM. The ADS-B weather has been fine for me. That said, I do not fly in situations where the more detailed XM weather would really be useful. I have been able to divert around rain using ADS-B weather and have found it to be fairly accurate. Enough for my purposes. To answer the...

Re: AC Retro Fit | Mags | USB | Etc

@lou, I have a log entry for the installation of the RAM mount. Hopefully this entry is helpful. I actually have two entries because during installation the panel cracked (still functional) and they fixed that at a later date when the replacement panel came in. Given it was considered a minor altera...

You'll definitely get FIS-B, I have the GTX-345R in my 2010.

Fly into either 7N1 or KELM and go to the Corning Museum. Really cool demonstrations on making glass.

Re: AC Retro Fit | Mags | USB | Etc

Super cool! I saw the pictures first and thought, “Wow, that’s exactly what I did!”. Then I saw my username. :) Have you had a chance to fly with it yet? I still really like the setup. I’d kill for that AC controller, hate the touch based controller. I’ll have to look into getting that STC done some...
