The weather was VMC on top, so no real need for the Pitot Heat. As for the Sat phone, the number was listed in the flight plan, although there were large stretches with no VF coverage at all, which is pretty typical in that area and also in Northern Canada. That was a pretty cool leg, lots of icebergs on the east coast of Greenland. The Diamond guys used their own oxygen even though both machines had factory oxygen systems installed. They prefer to use a portable bottle and the mountain sky system. I assume that this is because it’s part of their ferry...

We upgraded from a DA42-VI, so the 62 was very similar. The additional width was very welcome after 28 hours of flying with two guys, that is for sure! Both airplanes flew very nicely, no mechanical issues during the trip and the weather was pretty good except for the last stop we made, near James B...
