Re: Delivery. And a long story....

What is likely occurring is that the Chinese owners are extracting cash from the business, creating the cash flow issue, and other knock on issues management have to deal with, and hence creating distraction... After having lived and worked in China twice during my career, and also a company I was C...

Re: Schauer Charger Cooked Batteries

Having been an owner for two DA40s over the last 7 years, I have never had the plane on a charger and never had any battery issues. Current battery in the plane I think is over 5 years old. May change it next fall as we move into winter as a precaution but I think you could consider not hooking it u...

Re: DA40NG Coolant Leak and ECU A Failure

I had four flights with partial power loss this year (three after the problem was "fixed") and those will never show up in the database. I really enjoyed my test flight of the NG, however 4 partial power losses in one year... yikes. After 500+ hours in the Lycoming nothing but reliability.

Re: DA40 NG Off Field

My understanding of forum rules is that the companies and sales reps are not allowed to post for various reasons. I think that is a shame... we are all big boys and girls and can figure out which information is sales speak, exaggeration or biased information. And also, the sales folks representing t...

Re: Would you buy another DA XX?

The current DA40 I have does not have WAAS, the one before I had did have it. You do not "need" WAAS in my view right now, but this depends on where you live and what approaches the fields you fly into, do or do not have. Some folks will say they really need WAAS as there are not many ILS ...

Re: Would you buy another DA XX?

Yes I would buy a DA50, as it has "almost" all I want in an upgrade... more space, FIKI, better fit/finish, a little faster, more carrying capacity and so on. But if I did that I would no doubt be doing more IFR, and in that case with a single I would want a chute. Not my wife.. I would wa...

Re: EGT

Recently had a similar issue with one CHT being all of a sudden higher than the others. My partner in the plane ran some tests and put together the attached presentation which I thought was excellent. Replaced the spark plugs for that cylinder and issue is resolved.

EGT Question

Normally EGT and CHT's are very stable across all cylinders. Last two flights I have noticed cylinder #1 EGT is much higher than the others, also during ground operations. Having said this, there has also been some variability with cylinder 1 EGT temps, in that at one point it will be higher than th...
