Re: BestTugs B5 vs B8 for DA62

I have a B12 that I use with my DA40. A little overkill I know. My rule is never anything but low if the tug is hooked to an airplane.

Re: Help!!! Prop Strike questions for a Diamond DA40

I recognize they will give you the most conservative answer but have you tried calling Lycoming or MT? I'm guessing yours is not the first IO-360 to hit an orange cone and they might be able to provide some additional guidance.

Re: Lightspeed Delta Zulu

I have had my DZ for just over a year. I had to return them early on as the cables did not quite fit in my DA40 but since repaired, they have been perfect and I really like them compared to the A20 it replaced. One thing I have learned though is that with the DZ, I turn the volume down all the way b...

Re: DA62 opens door in flight

Is there a procedure in the DA62 POH for a door open or warning? That's what I would follow. I have read a lot of accident reports where someone tried to mess with an open door and came to harm instead of just flying the plane to a normal landing and fixing it.

Re: I must be stupid

I will second the statement that updating via SD card vs. FS510 is both faster and more reliable.

Re: Oxygen Concentrator

Thanks David. I did read the entire thread but I was a little confused because there was a comment about the “newer DA40s” having a 12v plug. That’s why asked about a 2011 DA40. What I’m gathering from your response is that either way, not enough amps in the socket without modifications and the “bri...

Re: Oxygen Concentrator

I purchased an Inogen 5 from Main Supply. It comes with a cigarette lighter cord. Will that work in a 2011 DA40? I flew with it last week (works great, highly recommend) and I couldn't tell whether it wasn't charging or wasn't charging fast enough to keep up with the battery. I believe my alternator...

Re: DA62 on order or recently delivered?

The GWX80 and GWX8000 are the same thing. At some point, Garmin changed the name because 8000 is more than 80 - therefore it must be better. I have a GWX8000 in the Piper M600 I fly. We upgraded it from the GWX75 that came with the plane. It was a software upgrade so presumably it would be the same ...

Re: GWX 70 Weather Radar Options

I have owned and operated planes that have the GWX-68,70,75 and 8000 radars. Each one is an improvement on the prior version but I would say the 70 is a nice improvement on the 68. The 75 is more of a next generation improvement vs. the 70 and the 8000 is the greatest thing ever and no chance would ...
