Re: Under Rated

This forum seems to have been set up to address complaints. I wrote an email to Diamond Aircraft and said that this forum almost caused me not to buy a Diamond. They should have a section in this forum that talks about the positive things of the DA40.

Under Rated

I have flown a lot of planes and have owned 4 during my flying career since 1970. I now have a 2012 DA40. I think that the DA40 is under rated more than any plane I have ever heard of. This website contains a lot of comments about nuances or little issues with the DA40, but it seems woefully lacking...

Re: Corked nose wheel - the return

After fighting with the issue of corked nose wheel on a 2010 and a 2012 DA40, I have finally figured out a way to make my 2012 DA40 nose wheel fly straight. Since I started doing this I have not had a single nose wheel corking that I am aware of, and the ball stays centered. Try lifting the nose whe...

Re: DA40: Fuel stains around drain

Sorry, I misinterpreted the leak problem. Your leak is at the tank drain port, not the outer wing port. Sorry.

Re: DA40: Fuel stains around drain

The connection between the two small metal tubes that are on the inside of the bottom-of-wing port cover and the two rubber hoses is probably the problem. Even when the clamp is tight, they can leak.

Re: 1000 Hour Annual and Hose Replacements

I would absolutely expect to comply with the wing removal and the associated fuel line work. The wings are not really that difficult to remove and put back on. The danger of a rubber line leaking in the wing next to the electrical connections is too great to ignore. Also, take a look inside the tank...

Oregon to Louisiana

Hopped an airline from Alexandria, LA to Bend, Oregon on Dec 28 to go pick up our recently purchased 2012 DA40. Did a 2 and a half-day pre-buy and then departed. Have been flying since 1973, but I have never experienced anything close to the flight from Bend to Alexandria. Took my colleague Charles ...
