Re: DA40 Wheel Pant
I was given the advice by the Forum to leave the pants on for OSH this year, despite bad conditions n the North 40, because of the protection they give to the wings and Flaps...one look inside the fairing confirms that...ended up being excellent advice. I just did a similar but smaller repair on my ...

Re: Airventure parking DA40
Thanks for all of the replies, probably will leave the wheel pants on..rather have a crack in the pants than have gravel ding the wing on the way there. If anyone is going, let me know on this thread and I will arrange a party at the command tent.

Re: Airventure parking DA40
Thanks! Last time I was on OSH was 1995. That's a terrific idea of removing the pants at the last fuel stop just in case. I've read and understand the NOTAM pretty well and watched the video series on getting-in, not too worried about the published procedures, it's the chaos that is a concern and yo...

Airventure parking DA40
I was thinking of flying to Airventure 2019. Is it pretty safe to fly into Osh and onto the camping turf with the low wheel pants clearance of a 2005 DA40? Have heard stories about broken Tailwheel, flat tires, etc in the cornfields. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: ADSB Out - skyBeacon is now available for order
I will f/u with them in October and post an update. Personally, for my 2005 DA40-180 non-waas g-1000, I’m waiting even if it means limiting my geography after 2020 for a year or so—I don’t know if things will get cheaper, but products will become much better in the next year or two. 2nd generation o...

Re: ADSB Out - skyBeacon is now available for order
Recently spoke with Hayden at uAvionics in detail about the prospect of a skybeacon-like device for the series 600 (?) Whalen lights that are on DA40, Cirrus Sr20/22, and many other certified a/c. He said he was very interested in this cohort of aircraft but said it would likely be Q1 2019 before an...

Re: Pilot Training - Spin Recovery Signoff
Sooo much fun to do spins...and spins...and more spins! To the right, to the left, to the right again! I have both a DA40 and a trusty 1977 Cessna Aerobat and fly both about the same number of hours per year. I’ve never flown anything as docile as a DA40 though, I love everything about it, always li...

Re: Unable to Contact Diamond Aircraft Support
Thanks...I have been getting a "invalid email address" returned for both Customer Support and Warrantee Service addresses listed online. No Joy with the phone number that I got from the web site. Premier Aviation has been a really great help with the airframe--but has no info re: next soft...
