Spam from China
On the other hand, we SHOULD eventually have a bunch of owners in China. Do we care about these domains? (If you are NOT CEO, please kindly forward this to your CEO, because this is urgent. If you believe this has been sent to you in error, please ignore it. Thanks) Dear CEO, This email is from Chin...

Re: Standby Attitude Indicator Replacement
Is your DA40 a G1000? And that's allowed? (When the little round gauge replacements first showed up I think I recall a prohibition on using them with the G1000 since they shared some code, or something like that.)

Re: Portable Oxygen Systems
The R2D2 item from Mountain High means my use is so low that I use it on every flight over two hours. I love it. Pretty sure my wife thinks I am crazy, but I arrive much less fatigued. Almost like I took a nap on the flight. I should ask her about that.

Re: EAA Airventure 2022
And what would keep them on station? Aren't they nukes? I would hope they would motor along into the headwind, doing whatever pattern they usually do. I just meant decommissioned from the military, in my fantasy the reasonable (compared to ferry fees) landing costs keep a skeleton crew and they kee...

Re: Prop strike on Austro E4-C engines
There was a DA42 I looked at which had dual prop strikes (the pilot came close to landing, realized the gear was not down, and went around, but not before shaving the tips off all the blades). Amazingly, the logs said nothing stopped so nothing needed to be replaced.

Re: Delivery. And a long story....
To me it doesn't matter how well Piper treats their customers, I'm not going to put my family in a metal plane that can fold up around them when I make a mistake or have bad luck. I have a friend with a JetProp. I haven't been for a ride yet. I'm not sure that's a good idea for a plane, retrofitting...

Re: DA62 or DA42
I've had three failures of GPS while flying, all in our original DA40. I'm pretty sure the one over Seattle was because I was climbing very nose-high and there happen to not have enough satellites to the south. When I leveled out I got it back. The other time was probably a military outage that I mi...

Re: Delivery. And a long story....
The current owners are Chinese. From my reading of James Fallows' reporting on aviation in China there are no fully private entities in the space, so all of the Chinese-owned aviation companies you are reading about are, in some sense, owned by the Chinese government. They are a play to leapfrog the...
