Re: ECU A FAIL

I had experienced frequent ECU A LH fail indications with my DA42 CD135 engines. It never resulted in any malfunction, however more than just inconvenient but to be taken serious. All attempts to determine the root cause (eg read outs from data storage) did not yield a sustained solution. My MRO eve...

Re: Unusually high cruise speeds

Hello Emir
if it was riding a mountain wave or thermal updraft, it would result in zero, or even negative pitch attitude. But the AI shows a normal 2-3° pitch up and zero climb/descend.

Re: Unusually high cruise speeds

I see similar performance figures with my 42TDI with TKS (e.g. here FL170/ 75%/ ISA++/ 2-3° cruise pitch up/ 164KTAS

Re: Beringer brakes & tubeles tires on DA62

Fully agree with Colin. I had the factory standard brakes on my DA42TDI replaced two years ago with Beringer brakes and tubeless tires. The difference is very substantial. In my opinion worth the investment.

Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program

I followed up with DAI Austria, asking a slot for the WAAS upgrade of the legacy G1000 on my YOM 2007 DA42TDI. DAI answered that this was currently not possible because the upgrade could not be achieved with just any GIA63W version, but (ref EASA STC 10048207) would require a specif part number (GIA...

Luckily, some glaciers are still there, however shrinking fast ("Aletsch" glacier and Mt. Jungfrau/Switzerland, during an exceptionally warm summer 2020)

Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program

I contacted Diamond Austria requesting a quotation for the WAS upgrade of my DA42 legacy G1000. The response is a big surprise, making me wonder. Quote: "...nach wie vor ist leider kein Diamond OSB / STC vorhanden welches uns den WAAS Einbau bei den DA42TDI Modellen ermöglicht..." in Engli...

Re: Some DA62 "Growing pains"

The reported case sounds like a minor issue, but really it means priceless quality feedback to the OEM. Several industries spend big money to encourage customers and users of their products for valuable feedback. I guess some people at Diamond regularly check in to forums like this. i just wonder wh...

Re: DA62 Anti Icing Performance

Ron reading about your experience is very interesting for me as I experience the opposite with TKS on my DA42 and that triggered my (wrong) suspicion about ice on your 62 tail. It takes at least 15 min running the system on my aircraft until the wing outer panels get wet. Therefore, I got used to ac...
