Quebec City Recommendations

Any helpful hints about flying to Quebec City? It seems like CYQB (Jean Lesage International Airport) is the only nearby option that is an Airport of Entry, and I'm having trouble identifying a GA-friendly FBO.

Re: Bahamas PIREP

This seems like it was a million years ago. Matt, the process is intimidating the first time. It's not so bad in reality, but you won't feel that way until after you have done it. Any recent changes regarding COVID not withstanding, yes, you can call the States the day of departure and let them know...

Re: Bahamas PIREP

Thanks for sharing! Now that you’ve done the trip and seen how little time you spent truly out of reach of land, do you think you’d rent the raft again or feel comfortable making the trip with good vests? I think I probably would. Mainly because if I pay the money for it, I won’t end up using it. I...

Bahamas PIREP

I thought I would post a trip report about my flight to Cat Island, Bahamas this past February in case anyone else is considering doing the trip and would like a PIREP. Our DA40XL was at Premier in Ft. Lauderdale for the ADSB install, so I decided to take the opportunity to fly it over to the Bahama...

Niagara Falls PIREP

I recently completed my second trip to Niagara Falls. I thought I would post the details here because it is a fun trip. How to get there: We departed from Lawrence MA (KLWM) on Saturday morning. To minimize flight time for my squirmy 6-year-old daughter I elected to fly to Niagara International (KIA...

Re: Cracked Canopy Repair

There was a similar crack in the canopy of my DA20-C1. It was repaired long before I bought the plane. The repair is not beautiful, but it was rock solid. According to the logbooks the repair was done by AirService LLC in Montgmery, NY. That company now appears to be called Take Flight Aviation.
