Hi Colin,
Great write up! What great pictures. I fly out of KAPA, and we did have a big storm that night. Glad you got in and out ok. Sorry the FAA folks were abrupt.

Re: New member of the DA40 IFR club.
Hi Jeff, Yes, I was gone all summer TDY. Just got back a week or so ago. I did get a really nice flight in while in the DC area. Took the "mighty" DA-20 from Martin State Airport up north of Baltimore over the Chesapeake and down to W29. Went with a local firm there that rents DA-20. Nice ...

Congrats Jeff!
We should get together for another "Diamond" lunch this fall.

Suggestions for Part 141 IFR training in DA-40
Hey all, I am looking around for a good IFR school that will take the VA benefit under Part 141. Figured I might as well get something out of the benefit before it runs out. We have several such schools out here in Colorado, but all use Cessna 172's. I have no hours in a Cessna, and honestly am not ...

Re: Any DA20 rentals around DC/Baltimore?
Hey all, Just got back from DC. Could not make it over to Leesburg (terrible traffic up around DC), but I did make it up to Martin State Airport just north of Baltimore. The folks at Brett Aviation hooked me up, and I flew across the Chesapeake Bay to W29 (Bay Bridge airport). All very beautiful, an...

Re: New airplane prices
Hey Alexander, If you see any more DA-20s with only 150 hours on em let me know:-) I obviously really enjoy flying the DA-20, otherwise I would rent something else. Down here in the states all the DA-20s I see on the market have over 2000 hours on them, and buying one of those just does not seem to ...

Re: New airplane prices
Hi again all, Well you can get a new Pipistrel Virus SW with a Dynon Skyview 10 inch avionics with autopilot and adsb wx for $135k. I think that would do for me. The DA-20 with glass Garmin 500 is on their website at $228k. I admit the two systems are not the same, one is certified, one is not. I th...

Re: New airplane prices
Hi all, I have flown LSA's and the DA-20. I find them much the same in terms of flight characteristics. The DA-20 is about 15 kts faster, and carries a bit more than the LSA I flew (the Gobosh). However, the new plane prices do not compare at all. A nice LSA is about $125k new, and the DA-20 is some...

Any DA20 rentals around DC/Baltimore?
Hi all,
I will be up between DC and Baltimore from the 10th to the end of June. Anyone know of a place to rent up near there? I would hate to go three weeks without flying!
thanks
Geoff
