I miss flying the DA40 in Atlanta, GA
When my local FBO lost its DA40 for rent about 2 years ago I start flying a Cirrus. I was always hoping a new 40 would come available but never has. Falcon has a couple but in far away airports for me. Anyone in the Atlanta area know of any available. I am willing to buy hours as well. 200 hours of ...

Re: So long beloved DA40
Carsten...... It is N254DS....... I did not get any details as to why it was coming off lease back....Looks like you are in the area. Do you know of any alternatives in the area other than Peachtree City?

So long beloved DA40
Well I should have known that as a renter the 08 XLS I have been flying for close to 100 hours will no longer be available for rental at the end of this month. The next closest one is about 60 miles away which is not very convenient. I really wish I was prepared to buy :( My options now are Cessna C...

Re: Castering nose wheel on take off roll UGH!!!!!!
As always thank you for the feedback. I tried Steve's approach today and it helped. I took off a second time from a different airport and not so much had a stiff crosswind this time around. Practice makes perfect. Will keep everyone posted on the progress!

Castering nose wheel on take off roll UGH!!!!!!
You guys have always been a big help and know I will get many opinions on this subject. We all know the Castering nose wheel on the DA40 is unique to say the least. I have 50 hours now in a 2008 XLS and I still struggle keeping the center line on the take off roll. It makes me nervous every time. Wh...

Re: New member. Rear canopy door question.
Thanks Troops... Preciley what I thought and have cancelled my reservation for tomorrow. This further prompts me to want to own as opposed to renting. No other 40's in the area to rent; however, would rather be frustrated than the alternative. Thanks again for the feedback!!

New member. Rear canopy door question.
So glad I found this group! Have learned more about the DA 40 in 2 days then I have in my total time in the plane. I am newly certificated and earned the ticket in a 2008 DA 40 XLS. Love the plane but unfortunately I rent from a local Club. Nothing wrong with the club but would much rather own then ...
